Lockerbie’s Fresh Produce Stand

The road side stand is located on Wellington Street in Loggieville and is open July to September selling farm fresh produce from the adjacent farm. Mr. Lockerbie provides produce such as beans, carrots, beets, pumpkins, squash, and cucumbers.

Fresh Local Honey

Wilbur Matthews collects honey from hives at his residence in July, August and September. Depending on supply and demand they can have honey available for sale until December. The honey is sold at the Miramichi (Newcastle) Co-Op Hardware store and the Newcastle Farmers Market from September to December. It is labelled and sold as Miramichi Gold.

Cowassaget Brook Farm

A local farm operated by the McCullum family in Tabusintac. They have a strawberry U-Pick typically open a few weeks in July, depending on the weather. In spring/early summer they have bedding plants available for sale. In the summer/early fall they sell strawberries, raspberries, and vegetables fresh from their family farm. In late November/early December they sell Christmas trees. They sell their fresh produce at the Tabusintac Country Market every Saturday morning 7:30am to 11:00am in the Tabusintac Community Hall at 4504 Route 11, Tabusintac.

Greene’s Fresh Produce

A family farm located in Blissfield, NB, the Greene’s family have a longstanding tradition of providing fresh produce to the Miramichi Community. They sell, at various locations, farm fresh produce through the growing season-mid July to the end of October. They sell a wide variety of fresh vegetables including tomatoes, swiss chard, carrots, beets, green onions, radish, green beans, yellow beans, potatoes, cucumbers, red onions, and yellow onions. They sell their produce at their farm stand in Blissfield, at the Blackville Irving 12-5 Thursdays and Sundays as well as at the Newcastle Farmers Market every Friday 10:00am-2:00pm.

Fletcher’s Vegetables- Michael and Evelyn Fletcher

The Fletcher’s sell their farm fresh produce locally at the Newcastle Farmer’s Market as well as directly from their farm in season, summer/early fall. Available for sale are potatoes, string beans, beets, raspberries, swiss chard, carrots, zucchini, and squash.

Sherry Walsh

This local produce is sold, in season, at the Chatham Farmer’s Market from July to October. Their vegetables include beans, onions, rhubarb, beets, carrots, and lettuce.

Mr. Tomato

Patrick and Lise Finnigan provide certified organic tomatoes, English cucumbers, green peppers, red peppers, and beans grown at his location in Rogersville inside his greenhouse allowing him to extend the growing season. These are available late April to November. He also carries produce from other local growers such as lettuce, corn, broccoli, and other fresh produce in season. These are available for sale at the Mr. Tomato locations in Rogersville, Richibucto, and for a brief period, at the portable greenhouse located in the Bridgeview Plaza parking lot in Douglastown (late May to mid-July).

Green Thumb Farm

This local producer sells at their farm stand, at Mr. Tomato in Rogersville and Richibucto as well as at the Rogersville and Saint-Louis-de-Kent Co-Ops. Their season starts in early July with strawberries and runs through November with a range of vegetables in season.

Ferme Terre Partagee

Rebeka’s fresh, organic produce can be purchased every Saturday morning from 9am to 1pm at the Water Street (Chatham) Farmers Market from July to mid-October. Some of veggies & fruits available: Early summer: Strawberries, Mixed Greens, Garlic, Herbs, Green Onions, Broccoli, Lettuce, Radish, Peas, Raspberries…Late summer: Melons, Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Peppers, Carrots, String Beans, Zucchini, Ground Cherries.Fall: Potatoes, Spinach, Corn, Cabbage, Beets, Squash and Pumpkin, Apples, Leeks, Brussel Sprouts, Kale.

Also available to order are antibiotic free poultry- chickens and turkeys. Poultry is one of the foods where one can easily taste the difference that farm fresh and free range makes. Their birds are raised without the use of antibiotics and furthermore, most of their grain is grown and milled directly on the farm. Chicken is sold in summer and turkey is available early fall.

Location: Ferme Terre Partagée is located near Rogersville. First established in 1885, the farm has been handed down in the Chiasson family for six generations. It has recently made a comeback in organic farming, producing organic fruits and vegetables and free-range, antibiotic-free poultry.
